The UAE's cultural scene is rapidly evolving, attracting both international artists and blossoming local creatives. The country's diversity makes for an ideal canvas for the interweaving of cultures, providing a platform for boundless expression and artistic collaboration. From the trendy creative enclaves of Alserkal Avenue to the art foundations of Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, here are the art exhibitions to catch across the UAE this month.
Consolidation is Reconsolidation, Hyphen Contemporary
Hyphen Contemporary is a new curatorial platform founded by Cecelia Jihu-Sara. It champions emerging artists and makes their work more accessible to a new generation of collectors. This group show brings together five young, UAE-based artists: Rayan Aljneibi, Layla Doueidi, Sara Kamar, Martin Ong Yambao and Husna Samer. It's inspired by the idea that every time we recall a memory, we change it slightly. Working across photography, painting, sculpture and even scent, each artist explores memory from a different angle, whether personal, inherited, or tied to place.
When: 15 – 19 October
Where: Region Concept Space, Mina Zayed Port, Abu Dhabi
